Another topic we touch on in our Daily Learning time in my son’s Grade 6 year, is Idiom of the week.
I created display cards for an idiom for every week, with a picture and explanation of what the idiom means, and also how to use the idiom.
My son is sharp concerning these types of sayings, so I don’t think it is really necessary, but no-one is too old to learn, so I thought it well to display an Idiom and its application on our Notice Board every week.
I also created a Notebooking Page onto which he can paste the idiom display card once it is replaced with a new one, onto which he can then write the date and an application as he understands the idiom.
