At our Infant and Toddler story time this week we learned about and played with the letter H!! We also read a book called Rosie’s Walk by Pat Hutchins.
This is a wonderful book to read with little ones to introduce prepositions (under, above, in, around, over, past, beneath, through, on, into, behind, in front) in a playful way, and it allows for ample discussion of and acting out the story! It also provides opportunity for the reader to predict what is going to happen next – very interactive!
Rosie the hen walks from her hen-house, across the yard, around the pond, over the haystack, past the mill, through the fence, under the beehives and back into her hen-house. All the while, a very hungry fox plots to catch Rosie, but his plans are foiled every time!
The kiddies each received a colouring picture with foam shapes to build their own House.
