I created some Language Arts Display Folder pages to encourage creative writing, helping children substitute common words with other (more descriptive) ones. I guess it could be used as schoolroom posters too – you could print it out and laminate it for durability.
How to use Other ways to say posters: Simply introduce to your child how to select a different word from the list when editing a creative writing piece, and consistently encourage him/her to substitute more descriptive words when writing.
I think it’s a good way to expand vocabulary and creative thought!
