I was listening to my son speaking to himself a few weeks ago when I was miserably out of ideas for a theme for his 6th Grade school year. He was saying, “My favourite computer game: The Lego Movie Video Game; My favourite character, Emmet; My favourite song, Everything is awesome; My favourite word, Awesome”!
I knew I had to do something Lego. So…
I got carried away making some “inspirational” greeting cards about 6,5 x 9,5cm that I could put up all over our “schoolroom”, and some to use to label his notebooking files.
I then made his first day poster, as I do every year, and hopefully I will remember this year to add the date!
I also made my own version of an A3 deskpad, something to put on his work area so that his desk doesn’t get damaged:
And then, what would a schoolroom be without a calendar?
Then only I realized that I had already included some Lego assignment in his curriculum, where he has to complete an outline Lego figure to look like a character we read about. How applicable! It sounds perfect!
Oh, and I simply had to paint the door:
